Ham & Lentil Soup - Slow Cooker

Cooking Time: 9 - 10 hours

Ingredients For Ham and lentil Soup


1/3 lb (175 g) cooked ham (about 3/4 cup)
1 cup (250 mL) dried lentils, red or green
2 celery stalks, chopped
2 carrots, chopped or grated
1 medium onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 tsp (2 mL) EACH: dried basil and dried oregano
1/4 tsp (1 mL) EACH: dried thyme and black pepper
32 fl oz (1 L) chicken broth, sodium-reduced
1 cup ( 250 mL) water
1/4 cup (50 mL) tomato sauce

Cooking Instructions For Ham and Lentil Soup

Combine all ingredients in slow cooker and stir to mix. Cover and cook on LOW for 9 - 10 hours (or 4 -5 hours on HIGH).

Serve with cornmeal muffins or crusty bread.
